"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." – Coretta Scott King
Greetings!
I’m reaching out with an important invitation for Christians in and around Georgia who oppose Christian nationalism. Together, we are at a pivotal moment. Inspired by the insights shared during Amanda Tyler’s conversation about her book, How to End Christin Nationalism, many of us have felt the urgency to take action rooted in our shared values.
That’s why we’re launching a Christians Against Christian Nationalism coalition here in Georgia. This effort grew out of our follow-up gatherings, where we identified the need for a group that educates our community, builds coalitions, and acts to promote equity and justice.
Our next gathering will be held on Monday, November 10th from 6:30pm-7:30pm via zoom. This event will provide a space for Christians to connect, strategize, and mobilize to resist Christian nationalism and advocate for a vision of faith rooted in love, justice, and equity. This gathering is for anyone, regardless of faith tradition or affiliation, who is concerned about the rise of Christian nationalism in our community and wants to learn what can be done to dismantle and end it in the days ahead.
At the heart of the Christian faith is the call to uphold human dignity and work for the flourishing of all creation. These values compel us to resist the dangerous ideology of Christian nationalism and the policies it promotes, which threaten to distort both our faith and our democracy.
